Casey A. Sheehan was a proud, young American soldier who chose to serve his country by going to Iraq. While there, the 24-year-old patriot lost his life.
Now, his mother, Cindy thinks she is honoring him and others by camping outside the presidents ranch, holding press conferences, writing “books” that no one will buy and just recently was arrested for acting like a complete idiot just before President Bush’s State of the Union address because of a t-shirt that she concealed before being invited in.
The t-shirt in question was black with the numbers of American’s who have died fighting for their country. The numbers are fixed in such a way that they can be easily changed to meet the current death toll.
I have to wonder just what Casey would think of his mother’s actions to date. I, for one, don’t think he would approve one bit. Casey was a young man of honor who fought bravely and gave his life for something he believed in. It was his choice to go to Iraq to defend what he believed in. This courageous young man knew the risks and proudly stepped up to the plate and accepted those risks. Cindy, in her own mind believes that she is honoring this young man by irritating not just the president but the American people as well. Cindy’s so called fight has made a mockery of everything this young man and his comrades have fought and are fighting for.
Our soldiers in Iraq and their families here in the states have enough to consider and worry about without having to turn on the tv and see Cindy playing the martyr. By all accounts, it is time for her to fold up her tents, go back where she came from, let the rest of America honor our fallen soldiers and shut up. I for one am sick to death of her idiotic theatrics. This deluded, self absorbed woman seems to think she is some sort of “voice” for our soldiers and their families. Well, guess what Cindy, you aren’t! So get off your high horse and stop making a complete and utter fool of yourself. Casey isn’t proud of you and America is sick of you. Leave the stage quietly and seek some professional help.
